The Annual Street Listing has been mailed.  Please check the information, make any necessary changes, SIGN and return it.   This form does not register you to vote.   Under the "Party" column, if it is blank that indicates  that you are not registered to vote in Halifax.  This year is a busy election year.  The Presidential Primary is March 1st and the last day to register to vote for the primary is February 10th.  The office will be open until 8 p.m. on that day for voter registrations.   (You may also register to vote on-line. The link is listed above.)  If you have any questions, please call the Town Clerk's office.
Absentee Ballots are available.  Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election in May are available.  

Mission Statement
It is the mission of this office to be a reliable provider of information and quality services to the community and its residents, and to work cooperatively and in coordination with all departments, boards, and committees while complying with state and local statutes.

Description of Services
The Town Clerk is the chief election official, recording official, registrar of voters, public records official, and licensing officer.  The Town Clerk oversees the polling places and the conduct of all elections and election-related activity, and records of all actions of Town Meeting.  The Clerk's Office maintains the municipal code, the official town bulletin board, oaths of office, appointments, and resignations of all Town Officials.  The Clerk's Office issues licenses and permits, including marriage licenses, business certificates, dog licenses, fuel storage permits, and raffle/bazaar permits.

Open Meeting Law
All Boards and Committees are required to post their meetings with the Town Clerk's Office. The Town Clerk's Office has information about the Open Meeting Law. Meeting Notices and Agendas are posted on the Town Hall bulletin board at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the meeting (forty-eight hours excludes weekends and holidays). In conformance with the Open Meeting Law, this information can also be accessed 24/7 on the Town website at:
