The Town has issued a "Request for Responses" for engineering and surveying firms to submit applications to do the engineering and surveying work (separate contracts) for Phase I (from the intersection of Route 58 and Lingan Street to the Plympton Town Line). While I expect that most of you have no interest in applying, I wanted you to know about the issuance for the RFR. There are no guarantees that the issuance will result in contracts with various firms as this will be dependent on the amount of money available and other factors.
The Town of Halifax wishes to receive proposals for the design and survey work (two separate contracts) in connection with the reconstruction of Monponsett Street/Route 58 from the intersection with Lingan Street traveling south to the Plympton Town Line (approximately 1.7 miles, one lane in each direction). In 2011, the estimated cost of the construction work was $3.7 million. This project includes, but is not limited to, (a) roadway improvements, (b) sidewalk improvements, (c) traffic signalization upgrade, (d) storm drainage and culvert replacement, (e) signage, striping, (f) landscaping, (g) any lane changes, reconfigurations, etc. The purpose of the project is to improve safety and operational efficiency of this portion of Monponsett Street/Route 58. The project shall be designed in accordance with MassHighway standards. The contact
for any questions regarding the content of this RFR or the preparation/submission of your proposal in response to this Request for Responses is Robert Badore, Highway Surveyor, 781-293-1760 email@example.com
